At BritishCare we believe that knowledge is power and arming yourself with the greatest gift of education is the most important thing for you and your baby. If you are looking to meet other couples, benefit from understanding the pregnancy journey from conception, labour and delivery to life with a newborn then these classes are for you! 
 
Our Antenatal pre-birth classes are led by Senior Midwife Julie and Senior Midwife Leanne. Their passion and enthusiasm shine when delivering these fun, interactive, informative, evidence based and honest classes. You will also have dedicated whatsapp support and access to a community of like minded expectant parents (friends for life!), these Antenatal pre-birth classes do not disappoint. We provide a safe space and a supportive, engaging environment for you and your partner.
 
Our classes are held over two weekends from 15:00 to 17:30, and include a light refreashments. Our course is split into four parts over the course of two Sundays. 
 
Sunday Session 1
 
15:00 Class 1: The Antenatal Period
Baby's Development, Common Symptoms, Healthy Pregnancy, The Midwife’s Role, Support for Pregnant Mums, Expectations
16:00 Breaktime 
16:15 Class 2: Labour & Delivery
Signs of Labour Preparation, Rupture of Membranes (Waters Breaking), Stages of Labour, Coping at Home, Pain Management, Normal Labour, Medical Interventions, Perineum, Tears, and Stitching, The Placenta, Delayed Cord Clamping 
 
Sunday Session 2
 
15:00 Class 3: First 72hrs
First Days with Your Baby, Skin-to-Skin Contact, Rooming In, Safe Sleeping, Potential Postnatal Complications, Newborn Screening, Pain Relief, Infant Feeding (Breast and Bottle), Car Seat Safety
16:00 Breaktime 
16:15 Class 4: Do's & Don'ts with a Newborn
Holding a Baby Safely, Cord Care, Eye Care, Preventing Nappy Rash, Sleeping & Feeding Schedule, Handling Emergency Situations, Bathing, Managing Colic & Reflux
